Everyone be all postin' about how it's these schmancy holidays and how apparently it's great to be outdoors with your significant other on days beginning with today and so on and so forth. But I haven't seen anyone post about Law day, so I will!

It's put on by the American Bar Association. The rule of law is a big deal in this here country, and it's continually being stepped on by our wonderful branches of gov't. So yeah. Check out that link above if'n you want to know more.

In celebration of Law Day, I'm studying Secured Transactions. Woo!

The highlight of my week is always receiving Law Week, from the Bureau of National Affairs. It comes in the big white envelope with the blue stripe, which is composed entirely of blue-and-white-stripes. I am happy when I see that envelope on the mail room table. I open it carefully, and read the highlights. If there is anything particularly awesome, I read the full article. I love that publication because it is like News of the Weird, without the boring stuff filtered out. We have been cutting our subscriptions, but Law Week was saved, first because it is the best thing about my job, and I refused to send a cancellation of service letter, and then because one of our attorneys caught wind that it might be on the chopping block... He found the office manager, and told him every single reason why we could not cancel Law Week, which can mostly be simmarised as "it helps me win cases." It helped him win his first case ever, it helped him win the key case that earned him a partnership, it won him that big case a few years back... I don't know. I just read it because it's awesome.

Anyway.

My motto has become : Every Week Is Law Week.

Good work on the lawyering... let me know if you are ever in need of a librarian : )
